Caaren’s path to image consultancy
With a solid background as a costumier, designer and stylist for film, TV and theater, Caaren Hulme is now providing the same quality personal styling services and expertise to men and women everywhere.
Caaren has built a solid profession out of her two passions: fashion and styling. She learned her love of clothing from her mum and grandma, a trained tailoress who ran her own shop.
They taught her everything she knows about cutting, fabric draping and patternmaking. To anchor her passion, Caaren obtained a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Film, Media and Communication and completed courses in Millinery Design and Fashion Drawing.
From her very first job as an amateur theatre company volunteer in-house Costume Designer to television and film (including American films and two Jackie Chan movies), Caaren’s most recent role as Head of Costume Design for Australia’s longest running drama series "Neighbours", saw her creating hundreds of new and exciting outfits every week.
Throughout her TV and film career, Caaren used her professional training and instinctive knowledge of clothes and styles that work best for each body type, physical attribute, personality and lifestyle to create characters and enhance their image onscreen.
And after having spent eighteen years dressing many actors and personalities, Caaren has now set out to share her knowledge with those who wish to improve their self-image and personal style – actors and non-actors alike.
Caaren offers a wide array of personalised services, from image consultations and makeovers to personal shopping. (As an experienced image consultant and stylist, she knows the shopping precincts of Melbourne very well – from the main shopping centres to the more eclectic shopping strips and alleyways.)
Caaren believes in each client’s unique attributes and potential, and works to highlight these. She helps each client visualise and create the best self-image.
